Dr. Ellen Drysdale 


Dr. Ellen Drysdale is originally from Halifax. She has had the privilege of serving her community for over 18 years.  She completed her Bachelor of Science at Dalhousie University before graduating from Dalhousie Dental School in 1994 where she was the recipient of the Quintessence Award for Greatest proficiency in Clinical Dentistry and Academic Acheivement, Quintessence Prize for Excellence in Clinical Achievement in Periodontics and Canadian Academy of Periodontology Prize. Dr. Drysdale is a member of the Nova Scotia Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association. She is licensed with the Nova Scotia Dental Board.

Dr. Drysdale enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with an emphasis on family dental care and prevention. She also enjoys cosmetic dentistry and is part of an implant study group. She takes a sincere interest in each individual and has a warm and caring style. By listening to individuals she is able to customize dental treatment to meet their specific needs.

After seven years practicing in Tantallon, Dr. Drysdale moved to North Carolina. She returned to establish her practice in Halifax. Dr. Drysdale has recently relocated her practice to Lakeside Dental Center. She enjoys a healthy lifestyle and loves the outdoors, she recognizes dental health is part of your total health.

Dr. Michael MacDonald 


                                                                        
Originally from PEI, Dr. MacDonald graduated from Dalhousie University in 1989 with BSc., D.D.S. He is married with three children and has been involved in coaching hockey for the past 15 years with his boys. He spent the first eight years of his career practicing in Yarmouth, then moved to Halifax. Many services he is providing to his patients include dental implants, crowns, bridges, restorations and dentures. 

Dr. MacDonald is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Nova Scotia Dental Association and is licensed with the Nova Scotia Dental Board.

Norah Kenny (Office Manager)


 

Norah joined the Lakeside Dental team in 2017 with 30 years of experience in Front Desk Management and Office Administration. Over the course of her career she has had the opportunity to work in the field of General Dentistry, Orthodontics, and Endodontics. Norah is our Office Manager, being responsible primarily for account management, insurance, and patient care. Norah has a passion for promoting good dental health and feels fortunate to be a part of such a positive and benefical team. Her love in life has always been family and she takes every opportunity to spend time with them. They have five children and (presently) eight grandchildren. Norah loves the outdoors, and especially enjoys walking and gardening.

Linda (Receptionist)


Linda has been working as a Dental Receptionist for the past 20 years. She is originally from Halifax and comes from a dental family background working in sales, service, administrative staff and dentistry.  Linda has been working with Dr. Drysdale for the majority of those years and began working full-time alongside with her team in 2006. She is knowledgable in treatment planning, insurance coordination and scheduling. Linda is most pleasant and everyone enjoys hers approachability and pleasant manor. 

Melissa Arnold (Receptionist/ Dental Assistant)


Melissa graduated in 2002 as a registered dental assistant from NSCC. She has worked as both a receptionist and dental assistant and recently joined Dr. Drysdale’s team as a receptionist. She lives in Porter’s Lake with her husband and son who is very involved in hockey. She volunteers a lot of her time with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and their local Minor Hockey Association. She enjoys watching her son play hockey, travelling for hockey, and spending time at their cottage with family and friends.

Christa Mayerle (Receptionist)


Christa has been working in the Dental Field for 26 years, with 22 years of them being a Chairside Dental Assistant. Since that time she has moved to the front desk full-time. (You can still find her smile out back to lend a hand when needed). She has the experience and professionalism that can answer your concerns, and always has on a pleasant smile to welcome you as you come in for your appointment. Christa moved to Nova Scotia a few years ago from Ontario. She loves living on the East Coast and hopes to explore Nova Scotia with her family. 

Jennifer Abagencia (Dental Assistant)


 
Jennifer grew up in East Hants taking art lessons and playing soccer. She attended Dalhousie University before going to NSCC to take Dental Assisting Level 2, where she graduated with highest academic achievement in 2016. Shortly after graduating she started to work with Dr. Drysdale. Jennifer enjoys being outside camping and hiking, or just lounging in the pool with a good book. She continues to expand her skills by learning newt echniques and attending continuing education courses.

Hilary Boudreau (Dental Hygienist)


Hilary graduated from Dalhousie University’s Dental Hygiene diploma program in 2010 and started working at Lakeside Dental in 2017. Hilary loves working with Dr. Drysdale’s team and staying up to date with the latest in dental health. She is from Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. In her spare time, she is happy to be in the great outdoors hiking and biking, and cooking as she also has a degree in Dietetics. Hilary enjoys volunteering and was the College of Dental Hygienists of NS 2014 recipient of the Ambassador of the year Award for her work in the Halifax community.

Sarah Outerleys (Dental Hygienist)


Sarah is 2007 X Alumni with a Bachelor of Science, she graduated top of her class in Dental Hygiene and received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler award from Dalhousie in 2010. She has a passion for hygiene and continues to educate herself through participating in regularly CE courses. Sarah a born and raised Valley girl has a big beautiful smile and loves putting an even bigger smile on everyone’s face who comes into the office. Sarah enjoys being part of the Lakeside Dental team and looks forward to serving her clients in the coming years. In her spare time Sarah loves being outdoors with her dog Bruin and the newest addition to the family daughter Laurel. She has a true passion for life and can’t wait to meet you and your smile!

Leora Weatherhead (Dental Hygienist)


Leora graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at Dalhousie University in 2005. She has been a part of Dr. MacDonalds team for 14 years. 
 

Danielle Newell (Dental Hygienist)
